FAQs
You Have Questions. We Have Answers!
Does my compound require a prescription? Yes, all compounded medications require a prescription from a licensed provider such as a physician (MD or DO), nurse practitioner (NP), or physician assistant (PA). If you don’t currently have a provider, we’re happy to offer recommendations. We also partner with a Telehealth service for added convenience—visit our Services page to learn more.
What is your turnaround time for compounded medications? We proudly offer next business day service for most compounded prescriptions when we receive your prescription by 3Â PM the day before. While a few specialized medications may require additional time due to complexity or ingredient availability, the vast majority are ready the following business day. Our team is committed to providing timely, high-quality care without compromising safety or precision.
How much will my compound cost and do you accept insurance? The cost of your compounded medication depends on the dosage, dosage form, and quantity. Once we have this information, we can provide an accurate price quote. As a compounding-only pharmacy, we do not bill insurance directly. Each prescription is custom-made and must be paid for prior to compounding. However, we gladly accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), all major credit cards, cash, and checks. If you’d like to seek reimbursement, we can provide a detailed claim form (upon request) for you to submit to your insurance provider. Please note that our pharmacy is considered out-of-network by most insurance plans.
When can I pick up my prescription? You’re welcome to pick up your prescription at our pharmacy during business hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Compounds scheduled for pick up today come out of the lab between 3-5 PM. You will receive a text message when your prescription is ready.
Do you deliver or ship medications? Is there a shipping fee? Is my medication stable for shipping? Yes, we offer reliable UPS shipping—Ground, 2nd Day, or Overnight. Shipping fees vary based on the service selected. UPS Ground is the most economical option. To reduce costs, we recommend ordering a 90-day supply when appropriate—this way, you only pay one shipping fee for a three-month period. Planning ahead helps you save on shipping and ensures you never run out of your medication. Some medications require expedited shipping to ensure stability, depending on weather and storage needs. Our team monitors temperatures and packages each order according to Board of Pharmacy and USP guidelines. Ice packs may be included for stability but don’t always indicate refrigeration is needed—please refer to your prescription label for proper storage instructions.
How long is my compound good for and what is a "BUD"? The Beyond Use Date (BUD) is the date after which your compounded medication should no longer be used. It reflects the stability and safety of the medication, based on its ingredients and dosage form. Each compound is different—some may be stable for only a few weeks, while others may last several months. However, even with extended potency testing, the maximum BUD allowed is 180 days from the date of compounding. Always refer to the label on your prescription for your medication’s specific BUD and storage instructions.
